Day 6

Another day off. This trip has seemed more like a vacation than a move. Like a vacation with your car packed to the brim and a huge bag on the roof, but a vacation nevertheless. Amanda wanted to show us one of her favorite places so we drove out to hazardous bluff and spent some time walking around the beach. Then we had a craving for some chowder so we drove into Langley to a place mom liked only to find it closed for the day so we drove into Freeland to eat at Gerry's. We had some chowder and fish and chips. Then off to Fort Casey, we wandered around the old fort for about an hour climbing up and down old iron ladders and staircases until it was time to head back down to Clinton to pick up dinner. They wanted to take us to one of their favorite sandwich shops called Pickles. They really were great sandwiches. After dinner we had brownies and ice-cream. Teana got to give a few haircuts to Rosi, Amanda, and Derek. Then relaxed for the night. We decided to prepare for our drive into Canada, so we pulled out the passports and other various documents we thought we might need, but we couldn't find out Canadian insurance card we got from Geico a few weeks ago, Derek ripped the safe apart, checked the glovebox and other random places it might have been but to no avail, we didn't have it. Everyplace online said we needed to have it to cross into Canada. We found a local Geico agent in Oak Harbor but he didn't open unlit 9:30 and we wanted to be out the door at 5:30. We debated what to do, should we wait and get one or try to go and if they turn us around we head back down to Oak Harbor. We decided on the latter.

This is Amanda's spot she likes to go too.
