Day 7

Day started at 5am finishing packing and saying goodbye we were on the road by 5:30. We drove north to Oak Harbor, got gas and continued off the island and toward Canada. In Birmingham we wanted to grab a last Wendy's breakfast and the trusty GPS got us right to one. It was around 7 when we pulled up and it looked closed so Teana jumped out of the car and checked what time they opened. Upon arrival back to the car she muttered "someone should let them know they serve breakfast, they dont open until 10" we decided that although Wendy has a tasty breakfast it wasn't worth waiting 3 hours for. We just kept driving
We made it to the border at 8:30 am. We made sure we had our passports and car info in hand. Derek was driving and the border patrol asked us basic border patrol questions then asked us to come inside for a little bit since Derek has never been and it has been 12 years since Teana has been. We are assuming they were doing back round checks on us. They didn't ask Teana a single question barely even glanced at her, but Derek had to go talk to them, they asked if he had ever been arrested and what his social was. Luckily 2 mins later they let us go. There must be some other Derek Isbell's out there with record.
Nothing too eventful happened after that. We drove 16 hours and Teana decided she was in the car long enough so we stopped for the night. We stopped in a small town called Smithers. It was an ok Inn with internet access and free breakfast at the restaurant next door.
Here are some pictures from our drive through Canada
