Day 8
Slept in till 8 am went and had our free breakfast then back on the road at 9 for our 4 hours left till Prince Rupert. Arrived at P.R. At 1 and had 5 hours to wait till we could board the ferry. Teana had to use the restroom so we parked our car and choose a restaurant that said sea food. Well we sit down and Teana asks where the bathroom was and the lady said it was out of order. So we order our food and Teana was just going to walk over to the hotel next-door. Teana walks over to the hotel and there is NO bathroom to use. Seriously don't these people need to ever go! Teana decided to wait. We are by the ocean so we pick clam chower for lunch. It was gross. It was manhattan clam chowder and tasted like it was from a can.
After lunch we ventured over to what they call a mall that had 6 stores in it. Then we drover down by the water to take some pictures.
At 4 we drove over to wait for our ferry there was nothing else to do. The Alaska Marine Highway opened up at 5 so we were able to get signed in early. Derek forgot our tickets and they had to bring them out.
We have driven 1835 miles to get to where we are right now. It has been a fun road trip! We spent the next couple hours waiting for the ferry and chatting with the locals. Very friendly people we met on the trip, I hope all the alaskans we meet are just as friendly. After a computer hiccup at customs we were able to board the vessel, we were the 2nd car on. After we parked we ran up to the galley to eat some highly over priced cafeteria food. We shall never again complain about the price of food in airports, ferry food was twice as much. We quickly discovered the "recliner lodge" and found a couple of chairs to hole up in. Shortly after the boat got underway we were both fast asleep, Derek in his chair and Teana curled up on the floor. It wasnt the best nights sleep we've had. The ferry arrived shortly after 3 am and we disembarked. This is where the fun began.
Us waiting to get on the Ferry it was cold outside.
The car in line for the Ferry. Good think we were at the front of the line.
We were the second car on the ferry
